If you want to see the amazing water ways, old crumbling buildings, alleyways, temples like in the movies as well as try incredible street food, head out to Zhujiajiao (about an hour outside Shanghai).
And Tian Zi Fang is the perfect place to pick up gifts and just get lost in the maze of less touristy shops.. Have fun!

For bars head to lantern (Fullerton bay), ku de ta (MBS hotel) or 1-altitude (UOB centre) - all rooftop bars. For burgers with a view go to overeasy. Sights - night safari, sentosa and gardens by the bay. Shops - MBS or ion shopping mall at orchard road. Brunch - wild honey at mandarin gallery on orchard. Local Asian food - go to MBS food court!

The continually developing city of Tokyo is a hive of activity with a population of over thirteen million people. The city prides itself for being on the cutting edge of technology advancements which is reflected in many of the attractions available to visitors. However, traditional culture is not lost with the presence of many museums and exhibitions detailing Japan’s proud heritage.

The Conrad Tokyo is the perfect place to get away from the bustling city life. Guests can admire panoramic views of the Tokyo Bay skyline from this skyscraper hotel while enjoying a downtown location surrounded by major business, and a lively variety of shops and restaurants.

We spoke with Yasutoshi Abe the concierge at Conrad Tokyo who gave us his top tips on things to do and see in the city.

My favourite place in the city is the Hamarikyu Garden which is located just 5 minutes’ walk from our hotel. The garden includes beautiful trees, seasonable flowers and a Japanese tea house. It is certainly a peaceful area of the city!
I would recommend the unique Robot Restaurant. This is like no other restaurant with regular performances by robot dancers and other mystical creatures!
Ensure you have a “PASMO” or “Suica” card, which is pre-paid transportation card for easy travel. It can be used for all modes of transport (including trains, subway, taxis and buses). Many shops including convenience stores accept those cards as well.
Two traditional souvenir items would be the Tenugui (Japanese towel) and Furoshiki (wrapping cloth). Tenugui and furoshiki are used not only as clothes but also as a casual bag which is particularly popular among young people.
The best view of the city is definitely from the purpose built Tokyo City View. From the observatory and outside Sky Deck located on the top of the building, you can enjoy 360 degrees of fantastic Tokyo city including the symbol of Tokyo “Tokyo tower and Sky tree”.
The Kichijoji and Mitaka area are certainly worth visiting which has many attractions worth visiting such as the Inogashira Park and the Ghiburi museum.
I recommend the restaurant Robataya (Robatayaki) located in Roppongi, the international gourmet centre of Tokyo. This gourmet restaurant specialises in traditional Japanese cuisine and highly regarded in the city.
Sushi, Tempura, Teppanyaki and Kaiseki.
I would say it is impossible to pick just one location that represents Tokyo! If I were to choose three places, it would be the fashion district of Harajuku, Shibuya which is a bustling part of the city and the nightlife area of Roppongi.
Clean, punctual and High Technology.
